The region of Languedoc-Roussillon is still an unspoilt
part of the south of France. It's an area where time
has moved slowly and where its people live in a typical
Mediterranean way. |
 |
| Life
is taken at a pace that allows for full enjoyment, with
a good climate, the very best in foods, with local fish,
meats and vegetables, and of course meals complimented
with some of the finest local French wines. There are
huge differences in terrain, from the Mediterranean
coastline that stretches from the Spanish border to
the Carmague, to the mountains of the Cevennes and beyond.
Whatever type of countryside you are looking for, you
will most likely find it in Languedoc-Roussillon. |
 |
Based in Pézenas, we have extensive knowledge
of the area. We have properties from Narbonne in the
south west to Montpellier in the east.
There are many and varied, from property along the coastline,
to town and village houses on the plain, and also including
houses in small hamlets in the mountain areas. |
We have properties throughout Languedoc-Roussillon but
through choice, we have based our offices in the ancient
town of Pézenas.
The town is typically old French, in particular, Mediterranean
old French. Pézenas was prosperous from the 8th
century BC, and then experienced renewed prosperity
when it was part of the Roman Empire. |
|
|

|
|
| It was an important
trading town during the middle ages, and became
the seat of the Governor of Languedoc and his court,
really establishing itself as a town of importance
during the 17th century.
It was during this period
that Moliere attained popularity, writing and performing
some of his now famous plays in the rooms and gardens
of local hotels, including the Hotel d'Alfonce.
This building, as well as many more in the centre
of Pézenas, have changed little over time
and are part of the attraction of the town. |
|
|
| |
| Tourism,
arts and crafts and wine production are now the important
economic resources for Pézenas and the surrounding
area. There are excellent AOC (Appelation d'Origine
Controlée) wines, with many local domains now
concentrating on high quality wines, rather than the
table wines produced previously. |

There are countless small villages and hamlets in the
surrounding countryside, many of which could be the
place to make your future home. They all retain the charm
of 'old France' and life does seem to go at a slower
pace, although there are some that are lively in a Mediterranean
way.
We also have property that is off the beaten track,
standing alone in the middle of beautiful countryside.
Whatever type of property you are seeking, town house,
villa or something grander, talk with us - we may be
able to help. |
